Colgate University Board of Trustees 2007-2008

Trustees are generally elected in May to three-year terms. The chairman of the Board and president of the University are ex officio voting members of all standing committees. The president is a paid employee of the University.

A handful of people have run Colgate University for years: the members of the Executive Committee, with a policy-setting quorum of only seven people; the members of the Nominating Committee, which recommends a slate of Trustees that is unanimously approved; the University president (also a member of the Executive Committee); and the dean of the college/provost; dean of the faculty. By name, they are: Chris Clifford, Chairman; Margaret Flanagan, Vice Chairman; Rebecca Chopp, President; David Hale, Financial Vice President and Treasurer; Charlotte Johnson, Dean of the College/Provost; Lyle Roelofs, Dean of the Faculty. Kim Waldron is the secretary of the University and an employee.
